Shellers Barrelhouse Bar – one of Austin’s most popular haunts
You can almost hear the spurs jangle as you take your seat at the pecan-filled long bar. Order a shot of our bar’s small batch bourbon, or join your colleagues for a game of pool or darts after a long day of meetings. Our tempting appetizers menu is perfectly accompanied by a Texas brew or your favorite cocktail. In keeping with saloon tradition, Shellers also offers engaging Austin nightlife with live entertainment. Our most popular gathering spot for guests pays tribute to the good old-fashioned Texas Barrelhouse piano saloon and the intrepid musicians who helped make them so popular.
While visiting Shellers, sample our signature cocktail, the Grey Ghost, created in honor of Bastrop native son and Texas Music Pioneer, Roosevelt Thomas Williams. One of the original barrelhouse blues piano-pounders, Williams - also known as the Grey Ghost - road the freights, picking up piano gigs all over Austin and the Southwest, appearing as if out of nowhere and slipping away in similar fashion.
