Firewheel Cafe

Firewheel Cafe
Named for one of the bright and bold wildflowers that make Texas their home, Firewheel Cafe reflects its namesake in both design and flavor. Comfortable chairs covered in brilliant hues, colorful chandeliers and stained glass windows - created by Bastrop artist Nancy Beal - lend an air of cheery welcome to our establishment. Walls of glass patio doors open to our covered porch, allowing diners both inside and out to enjoy incredible views of the grounds.

Our talented chefs have taken their cues from the flower as well. Innovative menus feature mouth-watering favorite dishes, blended with the flavors of the local cultures that make up this area of Texas.

Old Buck's Place

LBJ Pavillion
Let the team from Old Buck's bring you your favorite refreshing drinks and light fare as you relax in your comfortable lounge chair by the Crooked River Pool. Want a break from the sunshine? Then come on in and grab a seat at the bar or under the shade and enjoy an ice cold beer with a foot-long hot dog smoked brisket sandwich or a frozen margarita and nachos. Conquer your appetite for good food in the great outdoors, at the grill appropriately named for the man who conquered the Colorado River, Buck Buchanan.

Shellers Barrelhouse Bar

Shellers Barrelhouse Bar
Pay tribute to the good old-fashioned Texas Barrelhouse piano saloon and the intrepid musicians who helped make them so popular with a visit to Shellers. Sample our signature cocktail, the Grey Ghost, created in honor of Bastrop native son and Texas Music Pioneer, Roosevelt Thomas Williams. One of the original barrelhouse blues piano-pounders, Williams - also known as the Grey Ghost - road the freights, picking up piano gigs all over Texas and the Southwest, appearing as if out of nowhere and slipping away in similar fashion.

Slide up to the pecan-filled long bar to enjoy your favorite cocktail or sample our signature Grey Ghost Martini. You can also join your colleagues for a game of pool or darts after a long day of meetings. Our tempting menu of appetizers is perfectly accompanied by a Texas microbrew or your favorite cocktail. In keeping with saloon tradition, our Austin dining establishment also offers live entertainment seasonally. Whether you are just beginning your evening or enjoying a nightcap before retiring for the night, you'll feel the spirit of Old Texas welcoming you here.

Major Neighbors Grill

Neighbors Bar and Grill
Consider Major Neighbors Grill the 19th hole. Perfectly situated to give guests prime views of the resort grounds, this comfortable dining establishment serves up breakfast, lunch and drinks daily in a casual setting. Enjoy a tempting breakfast taco while relaxing on the outdoor porch before your game, or relax with a burger and beer at the bar after another successful day on the links. Every evening this summer, our "19th Hole" turns into a Lost Pines Steakhouse serving delicious cuts including Chile Rubbed Rib Eye and a Portugese Style Berkshire Pork Tenderloin. While dining at our restaurant, be sure to take a look at the photo of our namesake's "Peace Jacket" on display in the restaurant. Major Neighbors was a noted Indian Agent who helped promote peace among settlers and Native Americans during the 1800's. He was never without his "Peace Jacket", which became a symbol of all he stood for, and is an important part of our state's history.

McDade's Emporium and Ice Cream Saloon

Almost nothing is as charming as an “ice cream social”. Experience an old-fashioned general store that pays tribute to the historic Bastrop County city of McDade's; a town that embodied the spirit of old Texas. A visit to McDade's Ice Cream Saloon will be a stroll down memory lane, where you can buy candy by the pound, sip a rich milkshake or float, or indulge in luscious ice cream sundaes featuring local Blue Bell ice cream.

McDade's is also the place to be for one of today's most sought-after treats, freshly brewed coffee! The heavenly aromas of specialty coffee drinks and house-baked pastries are the perfect complement while browsing through our selection of gifts, souvenirs, antiques and sundry items. Pick up a sandwich, salad or fruit for a picnic on our lovely grounds, or for your travels back home.
